Ashley and Neil . . . a charming wine country wedding

June 14, 2014 . . . “On a beautiful summer afternoon, Ashley and Neil became husband and wife under a giant tree on a hilltop overlooking an expansive vineyard.  It was truly a spectacular and romantic setting for exchanging their wedding vows, surrounded by those who love them.   Healdsburg Country Gardens is an incredible venue in the midst of wine country in Sonoma County, California.  The small town of Healdsburg is a quaint place filled with charming shops and restaurants and a nostalgic ambiance.

Healdsburg Country Gardens is a producing vineyard which also hosts weddings.  This place is a slice of heaven on earth. Everywhere you look there are little details that make the setting even more special.  The large barn was built in 1902.  There are paths that wander through beautiful gardens of flowers with character around every enchanting corner.

Ashley and Neil decided to do a “first look” and Neil’s reaction to seeing his bride for the first time was priceless.  It was a sweet and tender moment.  Ashley looked stunning . . . a picture of grace and elegance!  Together they make a beautiful couple.  The wedding day highlights included a very personalized ceremony, officiated by Neil’s sister.  It was the perfect combination of marriage advice and humor.   Thoughts were given by both mothers of the bride and groom, including a funny poem about how love is like a dog.  Ashley is a veterinarian and Ashley and Neil have a dog, Harley, that they both adore, so this was a perfect and personal touch!  In fact, wedding guests found their table for the dinner by photos of Harley in various poses wearing their wedding color, blue.  In one photo, Neil even painted Harley’s paws blue.  There were so many sweet touches that made the day so meaningful and touching.  Neil works for a company that makes wine barrels so the dinner place card for each guest was a corkscrew.  They used barrel stays on the tables to hold small vases of flowers.  Neil even served his own personal wine label called “the dude”.

They ended the evening with dancing in the barn.  As a treat for their guests, they served homemade donuts made right on the spot and served with delicious toppings.  We whisked the bride and groom away for a few photos as the sun was setting in the vineyards.  We feel so blessed to have had the opportunity to photograph this special wedding in such a picturesque place.  We feel most grateful to have met Ashley and Neil.  They were a joy to work with from start to finish and we know that they will have a blissfully happy life together.  Here are a few of our favorites . . .   Glade and Corinne

Baby Olivia . . . truly a miracle!

September 24, 2013 – “The birth of your first child is overwhelming!  You are overwhelmed by your child’s purity and innocence,by the depth of your love for them, by the constant care and concern for their welfare, by their purity and innocence, by their tiny features, by gratitude for such a precious gift.  When Jared and Sierra’s sweet little girl was born fifteen weeks premature, nothing could quite prepare them for the road that lay ahead.  Their love for each other and their love and faith in their Heavenly Father got them through this trial of many weeks in the hospital, waiting for her to develop and be strong enough to come home.  It was true joy when that day finally arrived.  Olivia is a miracle, thanks to many, many prayers offered in her behalf.  She is a beautiful little girl and to see Jared and Sierra with her truly touched our hearts.  A wonderful life is ahead for her and and for Jared and Sierra, the fun is just beginning!!  They used to read her the story of Olivia, the pig, everyday in the hospital, so of course, we had to include ‘Olivia, the pig’ in our photo session.   Here are a few favorites.”  Glade and Corinne

August 15, 2013 – “We always love doing a ‘first look’ with our couples.  It is a special time just for the two of them and the reaction is always sweet as the groom sees his bride for the first time in all her wedding splendor.  We did Jodi and Paul’s ‘first look’ at the always beautiful Thanksgiving Point and finished up with a second session in the evening at the Salt Lake Temple.  Jodi looked amazing in her Maggie Sottero gown.  Jodi is a girly girl who loves sparkle and bling!  Her jeweled head piece was exquisite.  Paul looked very handsome, as well.  It was very windy during our session at the temple, but it made for some fun photos with the veil.  The flowers at Thanksgiving Point and the gorgeous evening light at the temple gave us some beautiful photos!  Here are a few favorites with this wonderful couple . . . ”  Glade and Corinne

Chandie and Jeremy’s Perfect Millennial Falls Wedding . . .

July 20, 2013 – “It was a hot 100 + degree day, but it was a much-anticipated and perfectly fabulous wedding day at Millennial Falls for Chandie and Jeremy!  Every detail was beautiful – from the unique and colorful wedding cake to the amazing flowers.  The bride could not have been more gorgeous in her Maggie Sottero wedding gown and dazzling smile.  Jeremy beamed when he saw Chandie walking down the aisle to become his wife.  The ceremony was poignant and sweet, masterfully officiated by Anita Gordon.  Could this couple be any cuter?  We have had such fun with them taking their very unique engagement photos in Las Vegas and now photographing their wedding.  There was such joy and love in the air as they celebrated with their family and friends surrounding them and wishing them well as they begin their married lives together.  Here are a few of our many, many favorites from their special day . . . ”  Glade and Corinne

Ashley and Neil’s gorgeous Lake Tahoe engagements . . .

July 16, 2013 – “We happened to be in Reno for a family reunion and had the wonderful opportunity to do an engagement session at Lake Tahoe for Ashley and Neil.  They live in California but LOVE Lake Tahoe . . . who doesn’t?!  We thought it would be a perfect and unique place for their engagement session with its sandy beaches, turquoise blue water, majestic pines and interesting boulders.  We were not disappointed.  Ashley and Neil are so in love and were so much fun to photograph!  Neil works at a company that makes wine barrels and had a barrel end custom made with their names and wedding place and date.  It made for some very cool photos.  The evening ended with a perfect full moon.  We can’t wait for their wedding next summer at the beautiful Healdsburg Gardens in the California wine country.  Enjoy some of our favorites . . . ”  Glade and Corinne
