Peacock feathers and cool Converses . . . Stephanie and Mike’s wedding!
September 27, 2012 – “Attention to detail makes all the difference when planning a memorable and beautiful wedding. Stephanie and Mike paid great attention to detail for their peacock-themed wedding at Millennial Falls. From the peacock feathers in the flower arrangements, bouquets and boutonnieres, and even on Stephanie’s bird cage veil to the jewel-toned jelly bellys in heart-shaped tins. The bridesmaids looked amazing in their rich and gorgeous deep teal, brilliant turquoise and bright green. The men looked sharp in their gray suits and Converse tennis shoes. Stephanie was breathtaking in her beautiful beaded dress. The flowers were exotic orchids wrapped in burlap – love the contrast. We loved the bobble head replicas of Stephanie and Mike on their wedding cake!
The ceremony was touching and personal as Rev. Kamrin Carver officiated with his usual warmth and humor. Stephanie and Mike had a beautiful chest filled with a bottle of wine, two glasses and love notes written to each other. They locked the box as part of the ceremony. If there is ever a time during their marriage when times are hard and their love is challenged, they will open the box, share the wine, read the love notes and recall the feelings they had on the day they were married.
The reception was rockin’ thanks to Durven with Laughing Gravy Entertainment. He loves to interview the guests to get their opinion on whether the cake cutting will be sweet and gentle or messy and mean. He tells the history behind the cake cutting, garter toss and bouquet toss traditions. He even leads dances like Michael Jackson’s Thriller. A highlight was Durven getting all the men to impersonate the Village People performing the classic party anthem, YMCA. Mike was a pretty cool Indian Chief. He had Stephanie lead a conga line. It made for a great party!
Stephanie and Mike have been such fun to work with. They have a very sweet relationship and we know they will have a joyous life together. Here are some highlights from an amazing day . . . ” Glade and Corinne
