Kristen + Chris = wagging tails and sweet emotion – a wedding at home . . .

August 29, 2012 – “This wedding was pure joy from beginning to end!!!  Kristen and Chris tied the knot in Kristen’s backyard overlooking the Salt Lake Valley.  It made the day so personal and tender.  As she got ready in her parents’ bedroom, on the wall I noticed a wedding photo of her parents when they got married.  Kristen wrote a sweet poem for her father that she put on her favorite bridal photo and framed as a gift for him.  As Kristen sat at the foot of her parents’ bed reading through the wedding vows she had written for Chris, tears flowed down her cheeks.  She cried as her grandmother buttoned her wedding dress – button after tiny button with a crochet hook.  She wore some of her grandmother’s vintage jewelry and looked like a Hollywood starlet in her incredible dress with cathedral length veil.  She and Chris opted to do a ‘first look’ before the ceremony.  Their reactions at seeing other was priceless and perfect.  Chris beamed as he took in the beauty of the girl who would become his wife.  More tears were shed.  We almost cried!  The other two men in Kristen’s life, Timber and Barkley, the golden retrievers even looked spiffy with their black bow ties and coats freshly brushed and gleaming.  Even the wooden bear on the front porch dressed up for the occasion.  A giant heart-shaped grapevine wreath decorated with flowers graced the doorway of the home.  Little personal touches were everywhere.

The ceremony was beautiful and emotional.  When Kristen’s father went to give his little girl away, father and daughter hugged for a long time.  Chris stood with his head bowed as if in reverence for the significance of this moment.  Then her father handed her over to Chris with a look that said, ‘Please take care of my girl.’  When it was time for the vows, everyone laughed as Chris’ pulled out his cell phone to read his wedding vows.  Guests danced into the night as the sun set over the valley.  It was a magical and beautiful day and we once again felt privileged to be a part of it.  Here are a few of many, many favorites.”  Glade and Corinne
